There were 2 matches for Solihull & Shirley Badminton Club in the Birmingham League. The Men’s 1^st team were back in fine form to turn over Birmingham University in the 1^st division. Great performances from undefeated pairs John Hudson & Rob Forrester and Joe Hulse & Andrew Kitching produced a 7-2 victory for the team. Things weren’t looking so rosy for the Mixed 3^rd team after a disappointing 9-0 defeat against Holy Trinity in the 2^nd division.

In the Solihull League, the Ladies’ 1^st team were on a winning streak of 5 wins in a row after beating Knowle 5-1 in the 1^st division. Unfortunately for them a youthful Ladies’ 2^nd team look set to grab the 1^st division title. Captain Grace Ollivent, Vernise Daji, Jess Hogan & Charlotte Kennedy (all under 18) played superbly to beat UBMS 6-0 in the same division. In the Men’s 1^st division, the Men’s 1^st team will be aiming for 2^nd position after a 5-1 win against Balsall Common. Captain Seb Drury, Nigel Field, Martin Hollingworth & Andrew Griffiths were all involved in the win.
