Solihull & Shirley Performance Centre

Solihull and Shirley junior badminton group had its first success as one of Badminton England ’s newly formed performance centres with sponsorship from Yonex and Maurice Robinson Sports. Playing in a tournament at Warwick School against juniors from across the county. Robert Wainwright and Sam Upton played well to remain undefeated to win the U13 event, followed by county juniors Ryan Bland and Craig Lawrance repeating the success to take the U15 event. 

Further success for Solihull and Shirley Badminton Club came in the recent team tournament organised at Tudor Grange school by Activ Sport. Fielding a team of county juniors - Grace Ollivent, Becci Crawshaw, Andrew Wainwright and Matt Dejesus. They eventually overcame some of the strongest teams in the Solihull league to take 1st place meeting a strong team from Colmer’s Farm in the final. The event sponsored by Maurice Robinson Sports involved singles, mixed and level doubles play.
