Solihull & Shirley Badminton Club played against the All Stars from Gloucester in a combined match. After a Men's singles & 2 Men's doubles had been played, S & S found themselves in the difficult position of already being 3-0 down. The Ladies were in fine form though to pull it back to 3-3. Vanessa Ballesteros played well to win her singles in 3. Katie Johnson & Anne Geilen and Claire Wilenchik & Sheila Stones also won their doubles in 3 games. S & S took a 8-3 lead after the mixed rubbers had been played. Mick & Katie, Paul & Claire, Nigel & Sheila, Joe & Anne and Seb & Vanessa playing together to all doing the honours. Once again the Ladies were victorious with Claire teaming up with Vanessa and Katie with Anne for them to gain two more wins. Paul & Seb picked up a win for the Men's to leave S & S leading 11-4. 2 more mixed were played in the match but unfortunately Mick had to retire injured after having won their first game. Nigel & Katie finished the match with another win to give Solihull & Shirley a 12-5 win.
